Riyadh: As many as 17 people were killed in a bomb blast on a mosque in the southern city of Abha, Saudi on Thursday, according to media reports. The blast took place when the worshippers were offering their prayers at the mosque. It is heard that the special forces in Abha will use the mosque. The reports say that the explosion is a terror attack.
According to interior ministry spokesperson, the attack at the headquarters of the Special Weapons and Tactics, claimed the lives of more than 13 and all the dead were the members of a SWAT. However, there is no official announcement on who carried out the attack. The investigation is underway and further details are still awaited.
