On Sunday, the tropical storm named Harvey caused devastating floods into the fourth largest state in America, Texas. The water rising in the city made locals climb on to their rooftops and higher ground to escape the water.

Rescuers were sent on boats and helicopters to save as many people as possible as they received distressed calls for help.

The National Weather Service sent out a statement that read, “The breadth and intensity of this rainfall are beyond anything experienced before.”

In Galveston County alone nearly 1,200 people were rescued, informed the country judge, Mark Henry.

The George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston was opened up as a shelter. The same places used for refugees from Hurrican Katrina back in 2005.
The Mayor of Houston Sylvester Turner reported nearly 2,000 calls for help.

At a conference, Turner said, “I don’t need to tell anyone this is a very, very serious and unprecedented storm. We have several hundred structural flooding reports. We expect that number to rise pretty dramatically.”

The aftermath of the hurricane Harvey has raised a lot of question as the governor and leaders of the city did not issue an evacuation order.

The White House reported President Donald Trump would be visiting Texas on Tuesday. On Sunday, he contacted the administration officials and discussed federal support.

During the past 13 years, Harvey was the fiercest hurricane to hit the United State. It was also the strongest one to strike the state of Texas since Hurricane Carla in 1961.
