Palghar Fire: Massive Blast In Maharashtra Chemical Factory

On Thursday night there was a massive blast at a private chemical manufacturing company in Maharashtra’s Palghar. About 13 people are injured and 3 of them are in a serious condition. Three unidentified bodies were also found during the search operations.

A Police Official explained the fire affected six chemical factories in the building. The Palghar Control Police Official Pramod Pawar explained the blast happened at 11:15 P.M., at the chemical plant. Mr. Pawar said, “The blast, cause of which is not yet clear was so deafening that it was heard in a radius of 10 Km, and houses and buildings were shaken.”

Multiple fire engines and police officials rushed to the spot and rescue operations began. The fire brigade officials have said the fire is suspected to have occurred in the boiler room of Ramedeo Chemicals’ plant. The firefighters doused the flames that have engulfed the building.

The fire spread from one section of the building to the next. This was because the adjacent companies had chemical drums spreading the fire further.

The blast was extremely loud and sounded like a huge bomb. Many in fear assumed it was an earthquake and hundreds rushed to the streets and sat on the roads.
