In a horrifying case, two brothers plotted and killed their 26 year old sister in an act of honour killing. It has been alleged the brothers carried out this gruesome act after finding out about an affair their sister was having.
On Wednesday, the detection of crime branch (DCB) arrested the two brothers Rajvir and Biren Vala, who are the sons of a known private financier Bisu Vala. The DCB officials have reported that the two brothers used the help of three accomplices to kill their sister, Poonam.
The accomplices have been identified as Gautam Vala of Dadva village, Raghu Gida of Jasdan and Mahesh Giri of Junagadh, all three have absconded and the police are looking for them.
The police have filed a complaint and all the five accused have been charged for murder, abduction, criminal conspiracy and destruction of evidence.
DCB police inspector, H.M. Gadhvi reported Biren and Rajvir with the help of three other abducted their sister, Poonam from their house in Rashtriya Kala Kendra Society. The abduction took place of May 25th, they then took her to a farm in a village near Jasdan.
Gadhvi reported, “The brothers forcefully made Poonam drink poison which led to her death on the spot. Later, they even performed her last rites in order to destroy evidence.”
The investigators were doubtful of the brother’s story and started to probe even further that soon led to the brother’s confession. The investigators reported Poonam had divorced her husband of seven years in Mumbai and moved in with her parents.
DCB Official reported, “ The main reason for murder was her alleged affair with some person who is yet to be identified.”
It has been reported that two days before Poonam was murdered because she had an argument with them about going abroad.
