Hyderabad: Government of Telangana took a key decision to withdraw the cases registered against the activists who fought for Telangana. Newly formed Congress government initiated the process of withdrawing the cases.

First cabinet meeting of the newly formed Congress government at Telangana had decided to withdraw all pending cases on Telangana activists and directed the home department to prepare the list of cases registered between 2004-2014. Chief minister A Revanth Reddy is keen on the issue and directed the police officials to give top priority to the matter.

Director general of police instructed all district SPs to list out the cases registered against students, activists, intellectuals, journalists during Telangana movement and send it at the earliest to the state police headquarters.

The state government is likely to withdraw the cases at the earliest.
