British baby swapped at birth in El Salvador has been reunited

A British couple claimed their baby was exchanged at the birth and sold to traffickers, were last night reunited with their lost son. The investigators tracked down the child and ordered other new mothers to have their babies DNA tested.
An emotional public plea was made by Richard Cushworth, a missionary in El Salvador, and wife Mercedes Casanellas, after their baby returned from the DNA test showed the baby they had taken home and cared for three months wasn’t theirs.

The British couple accused Dr Alejandro Guidos, a gynaecologist at the prestigious Centro Ginecologico hospital, of manupilating the ploth with other hospital staff, who switch their light-skinned baby and sell him to human traffickers.
Yesterday after attending court hearing Dr Guidos formally accused, the country’s Attorney General’s Office dramatically announced that investigators had already identified their biological baby.

Speaking last night, Prosecutor General Luis Martinez said that the babies of two couples had been mixed up and that each would be returned to their rightful parent sat a special court hearing with the presence of a judge.
“We understand the painful drama of these two families. We are talking about two children who were swapped,” he added.
