How many of you guys actually know the exact concept of ‘Consent’? (In saying ‘GUYS’, I am including all genders, so don’t be a coy. Just read the article.) You might think you know it, but as a matter of fact most of you guys don’t know it at all.
Consent is not just asking permission of other person, it about respecting their opinion. No matter how close you are, how intimate you are, you should always request and respect the other person’s opinion.
I am not just talking about coitus. Yes, I know Concept of Consent is important in coitus. It is one of the primary reasons for the increase of assualt world wide. But coitus is not the only thing. Anything you do without the consent of other is an assault. It is an assault of trust. Taking your friend /neighbor /partner /mate /pet /date /relative/ girlfriend/ wife for granted is not at all correct. They are living things too ( I hope that my readers have enough common sense to know what living things are.) They have feelings too. If you can’t respect their interests, then you are not worthy of their company. If you believe yourself to be a human, then behave like one. Live and let live. Don’t be self centric. You can’t expect the world to bend, in order to satisfy your needs.
If you are not getting laid to night? Just take it easy. Today’s not your night, your girl/boy might not feeling well (or simply not in the mood). But don’t go barging over your partner’s space. If your friend is not interested to lend your his bike, don’t worry at all. He has some trust issues. Respect that. If your neighbor doesn’t like you making ‘loud sounds’ in the middle of the night. Respect his/her’s sleep interests. That is what ‘being human’ actually means. (not just a quote on your T-Shirt).
