Indian, Pakistan Expats Celebrates Independence Day In UAE

Soldiers of India and Pakistan have not exchanged the sweets at Wagah Border for this Independence day as an account of the recent ceasefire violations, the neighbours have blamed on each other. But this dint make any difference at UAE, where citizens of both the nations have always been living with perfect peace and harmony over a decade.

Pakistan celebrates its Independence day on 14th of August just a day before India could start.
Expats of both the nations said for them Independence day is celebrated for two days.
“We wish both India and Pakistan a very happy Independence Day,” a group of young expats of the two countries said. Pakistani girl Areeba Zaffer, said that she is planning to host a small independence day gathering at her house in Ajman. Flags of both the countries will be hoisted at her house to heighten the celebration.

“This is my first Independence Day here. And for me, celebrating it in UAE makes it very interesting as people from both countries live in harmony here.”
“We go out for dinner and have fun,” said Saad, who has been living in UAE for the last six years. Before coming to UAE his opinion about the Pakistanis was very different. It was largely molded by what he saw in media, he says.
