One of the most renowned musicians in the World, Prince has breathed his last today at his home in Minnesota. The musical prodigy was just 57 years old at the time of his death. The singer recently had a medical emergency and was rushed to hospital on 15th of April. He, however, performed at a concert the next day, assuring his fans that he was fit and fine. He also asked them not to waste their prayers, as nothing has happened to him. According to reports, he was battling the flu.
Prince became a global phenomenon in the early 1980s, with back to back superhit albums such as ‘1999’, ‘Purple Rain’ and ‘Sign O’ the Times’. Throughout his career, he sold more than 100 million records which only goes on to show his sheer brilliance as a musician.

From being a singer, songwriter, arranger and multi-instrumentalist, Prince has recorded more than 30 albums and most of them were blockbuster hits. He was a blend of creativity and passion that fueled his innovative and influential singing style and as a songwriter his music combined jazz, funk and disco. In 2004, Prince was also inducted into the coveted Rock and Roll of Fame.
