On Saturday, Madrid witnessed hundreds of thousands of people gathered together to fight for the rights of the LGBT community, at the WorldPride parade. The 10 day celebration had singing and dancing in support of the community that is shunned by many. The WorldPride parade started in the year 2000 and has conducted many such events all across the world to celebrate the LGBT community.
The occasion was marked with the LGBT community’s rainbow flag with politicians from the country leading the parade.
The Mayor of Madrid, Manuela Carmena posted on Twitter, “Madrid wants you to remember, and to never forget, that whoever you love, Madrid loves you.”
