Recently, the BSP formed an alliance with the Janata Congress Chhattisgarh [Jogi] (JCCJ) in Chhattisgarh, ahead of the Lok Sabha elections. The alliance was formed to stand strong against the BJP and the INC, as these are the major parties in the State.

However, the BSP did not include any candidate from the JCCJ Party, which raise a question reagarding the alliance. It is expected, the remaining candidates will be filed by the JCCJ members to contest the Lok Sabha elections.

Speaking about the alliance and the seat sharing formula, Ajit Jogi, the President of the JCCJ, said, “The alliance is still very much in place from the Assembly elections. Any major decisions will be taken by the Parliamentary board on the 23rd of March, and we have a meeting with the BSP on the 25th of March . The coalition is still very much in effect.”

The JCCJ also cleared the confusion about the alliance and said, both the Parties are still fighting together and claimed anything stated otherwise is nothing but “miscommunication.”

The Party needs a strong stand to defeat the BJP in the State. In the Lok Sabha elections of 2014, the BJP secured 90 % of the seats, which is 9 out of 11, whereas the INC could save only one.

However, this time it could be different, as the INC won the Assembly elections in Chhattisgarh.

Chhattisgarh will contest a total of 11 seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, which are divided into 3 phases. The Chhattisgarh Lok Sabha elections are scheduled on the 11th, 18th and 23rd of April.

The results of the elections will be announced on the 23rd of May 2019.

Stay tuned for further updates about the Lok Sabha elections.
