Miss Georgia, Betty Cantrell Crowned Miss America 2016

America: Miss Georgia, Betty Cantrell, was crowned Miss America 2016 despite an odd answer to an equivalent bizarre on-stage question, while rest of the contestants were questioned about politics and she had to answer whether or not Tom Brady cheated.

Miss Georgia, Betty Cantrell was crowned Miss America on Sunday evening. She displayed her talent in the competition, she performed Tu Tu Piccolo Iddio from Madame Butterfly.

While the question round, judge and country singer Brett Eldredge asked Cantrell if she thought New England Patriot’s quarterback, Tom Brady, cheated?
“If there was question there, then yes, I think he cheated,” she said. “If there was any question to be had I think that he definitely cheated, and that he should’ve been suspended for that.”

According to The Miss America Organization’s website, the 21-year-old’s platform is “Healthy Georgia. Strong America.” She will receive $50,000 in scholarship money.
Miss Mississippi, Hannah Roberts, is the first runner-up. She has won $25,000 in scholarships.
