Now Take A Selfie To Authenticate Your Transaction

MASTERCARD SELFIE

With the growing technology, there is growing risk, and thus there is a strong requirement for higher standard of security. Apple brought in revolution by authenticating finger print scan for online transactions through Apple Pay. Later, this was followed by many others to further strengthen their security firewall.

Now, in a bid to further revive the security online, MasterCard has now introduced a new system that will authenticate your transaction with your selfie. Yes, you read it right. So for every transaction from here on, just take a selfie to process it.

MasterCard chief product security officer Ajay Bhalla said “The new generation, which is into selfies… I think they’ll find it cool. They’ll embrace it, this app seamlessly integrates biometrics into the overall payment experience. You can choose to use your fingerprint or your face – you tap it, the transaction is Okayed and you’re done.”

However, it is still unclear when they could possibly launch this as Mr. Bhalla did not specify any time frame for this, but he did reveal that the pilot app will soon be tested initially with 500 customers and then launch widely.

MasterCard is also working on other prototypes in the form of biometric security for payment authentication, such as voice-recognition and heart-rate recognition.
