Honour Killing: Lovelorn couple allegedly killed in Bihar

Patna: A young couple, who were said to be in love, were allegedly lynched and then set on fire by the villagers in Gaya district of Bihar on Wednesday. The murders are a suspected case of honour killing.

According to police, Jairam Manjhi (25), who was married and also a father of three children, was suspected to be in love with 16-year-old girl from the village of his in-laws. The couple allegedly fled away from the village and the villagers caught them. The couple was lynched and then cremated the bodies outside the village by the villagers.

Nearly 15 villagers, including seven men and eight women, have been named in the case. The police registered the case and also arrested a woman.
