On Friday, a 55 year old man was beaten to death by municipal corporation employees in Pratapgarh in Rajasthan. This incident occurred when the man tried to shield women from being photographed while defecating in the open.
The man was kicked, punched and beaten with a stick by the employees. He was moved to the hospital but died on way. The hospital did an autopsy and reports said that he died of heart failure. A murder case has been registered against the employees. However, no one was arrested. This incident happened in the Bagwasa Kachi Basti area on Friday around 6:30 A.M.
The Pratapgarh town municipality officials were on their morning tour in the area when they saw the women defecating in the open. They started taking photographs of the women when Zafar Khan intervened and told them not to click pictures.
According to the FIR filed by Noor Mohammed, Khan’s brother, the officials brutally attacked Khan. He named four officials including Ashok Jain, the Nagar Parishad Police Commissioner.
Superintendent of Police, Pratapgarh, Shivraj Meena said, “We are investigating the case and a case has been registered against the four accused named in the FIR.”
Police have been deployed to maintain law and order in the area.
