Navjot Singh Sidhu Quits Rajya Sabha, AAP Drops Hints Of Welcome

New Delhi: BJP leader Navjot Singh Sidhu resigned as a member of Parliament on Monday. If the reports are to be believed he will be joining Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) to play a major role in Punjab’s election next year. However Sidhu’s wife specified that she has not followed in his footsteps and remains with the BJP.
Leaving a bit of clue Delhi Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal tweeted “People can give their rt hand for an RS seat. Ever seen a sitting RS MP resigning to save his state? I salute Sidhu ji for his courage,” on Monday night.

Explaining about the reasons behing his resignation the 52-year-old said,“…With the closure of every window leading to Punjab, the purpose (of being an MP) stands defeated. It is now a mere burden, I prefer not to carry it… In the war of right or wrong, you cannot afford to be neutral. I can’t be self-centred, Punjab’s interest is paramount.”
Mr. Sidhu was upset when he was asked to make way for Arun Jaitley tpo contest from Amritsar during the 2014 national election and denied the chance to contest form the constituency for which he had been representing for 10 years.
