In Uttarakhand’s Joshimath region, approximately 600 families were evacuated amid the sinking and cracking situation.
On the 7th of January, Saturday, the Municipal Corporation in Joshimath and other authorities were making efforts to evacuate people in dangerous life threatening regions, amid the landslide and crack situations.
It is to be noted, increasing cracks and severe landslides in Joshimath, in the Chamoli district,left many houses in the State in panic.
On the 2nd January 2023, Monday, houses also began to develop cracks, which caused alarm throughout the city. As of now, 600 affected residents of JP Company Colony and other regions in Joshimath were relocated and many families from other wards were relocated to safer locations by the Uttarakhand Government.
Furthermore, the structures in the low lying areas are also in danger as a result of the water leaking from the ground in the Marwari area.
Notably, the concerned municipal administration authority are talking about the solution and other measures to help people and save lives. In addition, Mr. Pushkar Singh Dhami, the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, said, “Saving lives is our first priority. Officials have been asked to shift around 600 families living in endangered houses in Joshimath to safe locations.”
Meanwhile, corporations and disaster management are making efforts to rescue families and evacuate them to a safer place.
