Delhi: After two day long suspense, All India Congress Committee (AICC) named Anumula Revanth Reddy as the Congress Legislative Party (CLP) leader for the state of Telangana. Revanth Reddy will swear in as the chief minister of Telangana state on Thursday.
KC Venu Gopal, general secretary of AICC addressing media at Delhi on Tuesday evening declared Revanth Reddy as the CLP leader. He said that Revanth Reddy played a key role as Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president and star campaigner in assembly elections. Majority of MLAs voted in favor of Revanth Reddy as the chief minister of the state in the CLP meeting held on Monday.
In an Interesting Development KC Venu Gopal declared the name of Revanth Reddy as CLP leader in the presence of Bhatti Vikramarka and Uttam Kumar Reddy, who were strong contenders for the CM post.
Fans and followers of Revanth Reddy started celebrations at Hyderabad with the announcement made by AICC. Revanth Reddy rushed to Delhi after receiving a call from the party headquarters.
