The Telangana Health Department released a health media bulletin regarding the updates of the Wuhan Virus, also known as the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) in the Telugu States.
On the 3rd of January, at 5:30 P.M., the health bulletin confirmed 8 new cases of the Wuhan Virus, with only 5 recoveries and zero fatalities. With the new cases, the total of positive infections of the Wuhan Virus increased to 8,41,379), of which 8,37,201 are recovered/discharged cases whereas the total number of fatalities is at 4,111. In addition, the number of active cases of the COVID-19 infection increased to 67 cases from the previous 62 cases.
Furthermore, the new cases were confirmed after the Telangana Health Department conducted tests for 5,128 samples of COVID-19, taking the cumulative tally to 3,82,82,801. In addition, of the 5,128 samples tests, results of 327 samples are awaited.
With this, Telangana currently has 99.50% recovery rate, 0.49% fatality rate and active case rate is lowest at 0.1%
Although the cases of the Wuhan Virus are under control in Telangana, the State Health Department is taking precautionary measures to keep the number of cases low. The State Health Department officials even urged the people of Telangana to follow all the COVID-19 protocols issued by the Central Government, including wearing face masks and maintaining social distance in public places.
