The government planned to initiate a ‘war room’ which will be equipped with telephone lines and computers. This will be operated by tech savvy youngsters. The Finance Ministry will deal with issues related to the Goods and Services Tax, in this war room.

Vanaja N. Sarna, the chief of Central Board of Excise and Customs (CBEC,) released a statement on Tuesday the unit would double up as a quick resource center for central and state government officials. This will help them address their queries on the tax reform that is scheduled to be implemented from July 1.

Sarna said, “The finance ministry has set up a GST feedback and action room specifically for government officials to approach it with any urgent queries related to problems of GST in any area.”

She also announced that this room would be open from 8 A.M., to 10 P.M. It will provide an immediate response to the queries that are raised by state and central government officers.

The young officers will be available for 14 hours in the ‘war room’ solving these queries.
