Chandrababu Naidu, the President of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP,) on the 12th of March, appointed Yadam Balaji as the in charge of the Chirala constituency, Andhra Pradesh (A.P.)
The announcement to appoint Yadam Balaji, a TDP member, came after an exclusive meeting organised at Prakasam district, A.P. The emergency meeting was held at 3:00 P.M. with the senior leaders of the TDP to discuss the growth and development of the Party in the district.
The other major issue discussed during the meeting was the exit of Karanam Balaram, the Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) of Chirala. Karanam Balaram, a former member of the TDP, resigned from the TDP and announced to join the opposition, the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP.)
In this regard, Karanam Balaram met Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of A.P., at his camp office in Amaravati, A.P. Mr. Balaram also said he would explain his reasons of joining the YSRCP in a media conference later.
The exit of Karanam Balaram is said to be a big shock to the TDP as he was one of the strong leaders of the TDP.
