The Andhra Pradesh (A.P.,) Government, on the 9th of April, decided to recruit volunteers to tackle the pandemic situation due to the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 in the State.
M.Girijashankar, a Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer and superintendent to tackle COVID-19 in the State, announced the recruitments and applications for volunteers.
The volunteer recruitment drive is said to be a precautionary measure to increase the number of health care personnel and curb the spread of the Novel Coronavirus in A.P.

The statement released on the 8th of April, read, “In collaboration with Dr. NTR Health Medical University, COVID-19 Warriors is launching an innovative program to provide additional medical personnel and para medical personnel in various hospitals.”
Students studying in 271 Medical Colleges, Dental, Unani, Ayurveda, Nursing Colleges and other medical affiliates in all the 13 districts of A.P., are eligible to apply as COVID-19 volunteers.
Interested doctors, specialist medical professionals, skilled nurses and paramedical staff should also come forward to serve as COVID-19 Warriors.
Interested candidates could register at the health.ap.gov. in/CVPASSAPP/Covid/ Volunteerjobs..
The steps were taken after the COVID-19 positive cases reached to 348 in Andhra Pradesh.
