COVID-19 Cases Reaches 2.76 Lakh Cases With 49 % Recovery Rate

India recorded a total of 2,76,583 cases of the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 with a recovery rate of 49%  till the 10th of June .

On the morning of the 10th of June, the Union Health Ministry confirmed 9,985 new cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.  While India crossed  2,76,583 positive cases, deaths due to the Coronavirus infection stood at 7,745 including 279 deaths in the past 24 hours.

The number of patients recovered till date  in India are 1,34,166.

The Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 infection is now rising in India with a spike of 9,000 plus cases everyday amid the ongoing lockdown 5.0., in containment zones and Unlock 1 in other areas.

While the Central Government opened everything to enhance economic conditions, the pandemic crisis is being worsened with every day increasing numbers.

Despite issuing lockdown norms, mandatory face masks, sanitizers, SOPs for shops and other guidelines, the numbers are terrible.  Besides, opening of shopping malls, religious places and restaurants, it is expected to make the situation worse leading to more cases in the coming days.

The Union Home Ministry announced Unlock 1.0., allowing re opening of shopping malls, restaurants and religious places in  Red, Orange and Green zones.  However, containment zones, especially in 13 cities of India would be under the lockdown 5.0., till the 30th of June.  

On the 4th of June, the Ministry of Home Affairs, released a set of guidelines for all the restaurants, religious places and shopping malls, which resumed functioning from the 8th of June, across India. 

However, considering the situation, the Maharashtra Government did not allow shopping malls, religious places and restaurants to open.  Meghalaya Government also held the opening of religious places and the West Bengal Government extended the lockdown in the containment zones with strict rules.

Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Delhi, Gujarat, Rajasthan are the Indian states which are reporting high numbers of COVID-19 cases and are the worst hit .

Maharashtra has 90, 787cases, Tamil Nadu has 34,914 cases, Delhi (29,943) Gujarat (21,044,) Rajasthan (11,245,) Uttar Pradesh (11,335,) Madhya Pradesh (9,849) and West Bengal (8,985.) 

On the 7th of June, India became the 5th worst hit COVID-19 affected nation.  The other four are the United States of America, Brazil, Russia and the United Kingdom (U.K.)

Railways and aviation services are also resumed with the social distancing norms and new guidelines for the staff and the passengers travelling.
