Rangareddy Becomes Hotspot For Covid-19 In Telangana

With the increasing cases of the Novel Coronavirus, Rangareddy district of Telangana is also a hotspot for the spread of the COVID-19 infection.

Initially, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) limits was the hotspot for the deadly virus in the State. 

However, in the past few days, Rangareddy district has also  come to light for the spread of the virus.

Some of the areas of Rangareddy which reported positive cases in the past few days are:

Rajendranagar, Shabad, Narsingi, Moinabad, Shankarpally, Chandanvelly and Balapur.

Till the 24th of June, Rangareddy reported 171 coronavirus cases in the last two days. 

In the first week of June, Rangareddy district had less than 100 Coronavirus cases, however in just a few days, the total reached to 641 cases. 

Out of the total, 622 are active cases, 17 are cured/discharged and 2 deceased.

Other districts of Telangana with high number of Coronavirus infection are: Medchal-Malkajgiri (290,) Sangareddy (86) and Suryapet (64.) 

The massive rise in the cases is said to be due to the intensified testing and approving private labs to conduct the COVID-19 test.

Initially, only the State run Gandhi Hospital was the designated centre for the Coronavirus test and treatment.

However, considering the situation due to the pandemic crisis and rise in cases, the State Government decided to approve private labs and hospitals to attend COVID-19 patients.
