The first result for the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) elections were released.
As per the first results, the Indian National Congress’ Sirisha Reddy won from the AS Rao division.
Three candidates of the All India Majlis e Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) also secured three divisions. Rafat Sultana, a candidate of the AIMIM won Ahmednagar division of the GHMC elections.
Hussain Khan and Majid Hussain won from Dabeerpura and Mehdipatnam divisions respectively.
In addition, Sunitha Reddy, a member of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) won from Mettuguda division
Meanwhile, as per trends at 1:00 P.M., the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) started leading in 53, followed by the BJP in 20, the AIMIM in 8 and the INC in 1 seat.
Later around 1:40 P.M., the tables turned as the BJP which was leading in 88 seats in the morning and 20 seats in the afternoon, trailed.
At 1:40 P.M., the TRS is leading in 53 divisions, followed by the AIMIM in 30 seats, the BJP in 25 and the INC in 2 divisions.
As per the trend and leads, the GHMC elections are said to be a three way battle between the TRS, the BJP and the AIMIM.
The final results of the GHMC elections are scheduled to release later in the day.
The Telangana State Election Commission (SEC) has made elaborate arrangements for the counting at 30 places in the city amid tight security with the help of more than 8,000 personnel.
The voting count is still underway.
