Telangana once again started reporting more than 500 cases of the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19. In 2021, the State reported the highest, 684 single day spike of Novel Coronavirus.
Of the total new cases, the highest were from the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) with 184 cases, followed by Medchal Malkajgiri and Rangareddy districts with 61 and 45 cases respectively.
Other districts reported the remaining cases. Nizamabad district reported 48 new cases, 30 new cases were detected in Nirmal, Nalgonda reported 24 new cases, Mahaboobnagar (23,) Jagtial (19,) Warangal Urban (17,) Yadadri Bhongir (17,) Khammam (17) and Suryapet (16.)
In addition to the new cases, 3 deceased cases and 394 people recovered/discharged cases were reported in the last 24 hours.
The facts of COVID-19 were reported through a media bulletin shared by the State Health Department. The COVID-19 media bulletin is being shared on a regular basis to update about the COVID-19 situation in Telangana.
According to the media bulletin, Telangana has 3,07,889 positive cases. Of the total, 4,965 are active cases, 3,01,227 are recovered/discharged cases and 1,697 are deceased cases.
In addition, the COVID-19 recovery rate is at 97.83 % from the previous 98% and fatality rate stands at 0.55 %.
Admissions into hospitals treating COVID-19 patients in the State continued to increase. The number of patients undergoing treatment in government run and private hospitals has gone up to 3,092 from 2,955 the previous day.
In Telangana, there are a total of 62 government hospitals had 858 patients while the number of patients undergoing treatment in 226 private hospitals mounted to 2,228. Out of 8,419 beds in government hospitals, 7,561 were vacant while in private hospitals 5,848 beds out of 8,076 were vacant.
Meanwhile, in the past 24 hours, the Telangana Health authorities conducted 56,122 sample tests for COVID-19. Of the total, 48,065 samples tested in government laboratories and 8,057 samples were tested in private laboratories.
With this, the cumulative total of COVID-19 tests reached 1,01,51,609 tests in Telangana.
