At 5:00 P.M., on the 27th of October, the campaign for the Huzurabad Assembly by election, came to an end.
As per the orders of the Election Commission (EC) the election campaign for the Assembly constituency is supposed to end 72 hours ahead of the by poll. The Huzurabad Assembly by election is scheduled on the 30th of October, therefore, today was the last day to campaign for the Huzurabad Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) seat.
Usually as per the norm of the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) the campaigning ends 48 hours prior to the election day. However, with the recently held West Bengal by elections, the EC changed the format to 72 hours.
With this, all the parties of Telangana contesting the Huzurabad by poll, ended their campaign today at 5:00 P.M. The major parties like the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS,) the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) campaigned with a high intensity to win the election. The Huzurabad by election, which is said to be a semi final for the upcoming 2023 Telangana Assembly elections is no less than a battleground for the political parties in the Telugu State.
However, the battle for the constituency is tough between Mr. Gellu Srinivas Yadav, the MLA candidate of the TRS and Mr. Eatala Rajender, the MLA candidate of the BJP. These leaders addressed road shows and public meetings in the constituency to gain vote banks and woo the voters.
The TRS leaders like T. Harish Rao, Mr. K.T. Rama Rao and Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao campaigned for their candidate. Meanwhile, Mr. Bandi Sanjay Kumar, the BJP President in Telangana, Mr. G. Kishan Reddy Andand other leaders campaigned for their candidate Mr. Eatala Rajender.
After Mr. Eatala Rajender, the former Health Minister of Telangana and MLA of Huzurabad resigned from the post, the Huzurabad Assembly constituency fell vacant. After resigning, Mr. Rajender joined the opposition BJP and was nominated as the MLA candidate for the constituency.
With Mr. Eatala Rajender as the MLA candidate, the BJP is confident of winning the Huzurabad Assembly by poll. Similarly, with the performance of the TRS as the Telangana Government and contribution for the growth and development of the State, the TRS is also confident that their candidate would win the Huzurabad MLA seat.
The battle for the Huzurabad MLA seat is scheduled on the 30th of October and the results would be announced on the 2nd of November.
