
New Delhi: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for extending financial assistance to complete the Polavaram irrigation project and the state capital Amaravati. These initiatives are pivotal for Andhra Pradesh’s development.
During a 45-minute meeting at the Prime Minister’s residence, Mr. Naidu discussed state programs, financial challenges, and ongoing projects. He informed Mr. Modi that work on Polavaram and Amaravati had resumed and thanked him for the support to expedite their completion.
The Chief Minister highlighted the previous government’s mismanagement of funds allocated for 94 Centrally Sponsored Schemes, which led to significant setbacks for the state. He noted that his government had relaunched 74 of these schemes and sought further Central cooperation.
Mr. Naidu also discussed the establishment of the ArcelorMittal Steel Plant in Andhra Pradesh and requested assistance for securing raw materials and necessary approvals. Additionally, he sought financial support to overcome the revenue deficit caused by the previous administration.
The Chief Minister submitted the “Swarnandhra Vision-2047” document to the Prime Minister, outlining ambitious targets for the state’s development. He also briefed Union Ministers Amit Shah, Nirmala Sitharaman, and others on the state’s financial recovery efforts.
