Weather Shift Puts Multiple Telangana Districts on High Alert

Severe coastal storms frequently alter weather conditions across neighbouring inland states, bringing sudden rainfall and strong winds. Authorities routinely monitor these atmospheric shifts to inform communities and help regional administration prepare for potential disruptions.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD), Hyderabad, has issued heavy-to-very-heavy rainfall alerts across multiple districts in Telangana. Although severe cyclonic storm Murasu is approaching the south Andhra Pradesh coast, its expansive reach is set to bring intense weather conditions to Telangana.

For Wednesday, weather officials warned of heavy-to-very-heavy rainfall, with isolated extremely heavy downpours likely in Nalgonda and Nagarkurnool. Heavy rainfall warnings, along with lightning and gusty winds reaching 50–60 kmph, cover districts such as Suryapet, Mahabubnagar, Wanaparthy, Rangareddy, Khammam, and Warangal.

Residents across affected areas are advised to prepare as weather intensity is expected to heighten over the next 24 hours.
