Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Virat Kohli has been fined Rs 12 lakh for continuing slow over rate during the team’s Indian Premier League 2016 match against the Rising Pune Supergiants.
“Since it was his the first offence of season under the IPL’s Code of Conduct relating to minimum over-rate offences, Mr. Kohli was fined Rs 12 lakh,” the IPL said in a statement.

In last night game, RCB rode on De Villiers’ 83 off 46 balls with the help of six boundaries and two sixes and Kohli’s 80 off 63 deliveries, during which he struck seven fours and two hits over the fence, to post 185 for five.
Later, RCB bowlers rose to the occasion and managed to restrict Pune to 172 for eight.
