Mailardevpally: A 15 year old class X student committed suicide at her house after her mother scolded her for speaking to her boyfriend on the phone.
Mailardevpally Police officials stated that the mother Pushpa scolded Gayatri and asked her not to be in a relationship as she is only 15 years old and is a minor and the boy belonged to the same neighbourhood. Gayatri Yadav, 15, hanged herself in her room when her mother was busy with household work.
Pushpa later filed a complaint against Gayatri’s boyfriend alleging abetment of suicide after the death of her daughter. Pushpa alleged that the suicide was triggered her daughter’s boyfriend who was talking to her daughter frequently on the phone. She also mentioned that the boy was harassing her daughter.
“Gayatri was caught talking on the phone twice by her mother on Tuesday night and Wednesday morning. At night, her mother scolded her and warned her not to speak again to the boy since they are minors. Later, she was again found Gayatri talking on the phone after which her mother became angry and scolded her again. We suspect she must have got depressed and hung herself on the spur of the moment,” stated a police official from Mailardevpally.
The police stated that they have filed a case and are investigation is ongoing.
