Mr. Dharmana Prasada Rao took charge as the Minister of Revenue Stamps and Registration, on the 13th of April, Wednesday.
According to sources, Mr. Dharmana Prasad Rao conducted a special puja at the Secretariat, following which he took over the charge of the office. Addressing the media, Mr. Dharmana Rao extended gratitude to Mr. Y.S.Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh for providing him such an opportunity to become a minister in his Cabinet. Recently, on the 10th of April, the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) Government announced the new reshuffled Cabinet Ministry of Andhra Pradesh. The new 25 ministers were a mix of old and new faces, based on criteria like caste, religion, and experience, making a balance of inducting minorities too this time.
Meanwhile, Mr. Dharmana Prasad Rao said that he aims to fulfill the objectives of the State Government and asserted to work in coordination with senior officers in Andhra Pradesh.
Highlighting the early life and career of the YSRCP Minister, Mr. Dharmana Prasada Rao forayed into public life in 1983 as the Sarpanch of Mabagam Grama Panchayat. Later in 1987, he became the President of the Polaki Mandal Praja Parishad. In 1989, he won as the Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) from the Narasannapeta constituency and served as Minister of State between 1991 and 1994. However, in 1994 he lost the MLA seat and again won in 1999, 2004, and 2009 elections. Mr. Dharmana Prasad Rao held the MLA seat from the Srikakulam Assembly constituency.
Later, during the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) rule, Mr. Dharmana Prasad Rao served in the Cabinet Ministry of joint Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, from 2004 to 2013.
After a rift with the TDP, Mr. Dharmana Prasad Rao joined the YSRCP in 2013. Since then, he has shown his loyalty to the Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy led YSRCP Party in Andhra Pradesh.
