NIMS Arranges Special Wards For Physicians Infected Of COVID-19

Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) hospital of Hyderabad set up a special ward to treat physicians infected with the Novel Coronavirus or COVDID-19.

Many doctors of renowned hospitals like Osmania Hospital, Petlaburj Maternity Hospital and NIMS hospitals have reported doctors being infected with the Novel Coronavirus while treating patients.

According to sources, for these special wards besides 200 beds, NIMS has150 ventilators, 100 monitors in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and over 300 oxygen ports.

NIMS also has experienced doctors to treat the doctor detected of the Novel Coronavirus at special wards.   There are 26 doctors of NIMS, who are positive of the Novel Coronavirus.

The increasing cases of the Novel Coronavirus in Telangana, especially doctors is a major concern for the hospitals in the State.

At this pandemic crisis doctors being affected is a huge loss for the patients, as the hospital needs to shut the ward, which reported doctors positive of the virus.

Meanwhile, limited medical staff and doctors proportionate to a huge number of patients, makes it difficult for doctors to treat the patients.

Telangana has a total of 3,650 cases of the Novel Coronavirus, out of which 1,771 are active cases, 1,742 are discharged/ cured  and 137 deceased.
