Tammineni Sitaram, the Speaker of the Andhra Pradesh (AP) Assembly, on the 25th of November, criticised the opposition parties for their comments against English medium schools in AP.
After the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) announced English would be made the medium of instruction in government schools, the Government faced a lot of criticism from the opposition.
The JanaSena Party and the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) questioned the move and said Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy is disrespecting the mother tongue of Andhra Pradesh.
On the 25th of November, Tammineni Sitaram said, “Making such comments is not right.” Mr. Sitaram lashed out at the opposition parties for criticising the YSRCP Government.
The AP Assembly Speaker, who is preparing for the Winter Session of the AP Assembly, warned the opposition leaders not to comment against the matter of English medium schools using baseless logic.
The YSRCP Government is all set to conduct its first Winter Session of the AP Assembly after coming to power. The Winter Session is scheduled to begin from the 9th of December.
However, the number of sessions is not yet decided and would be announced later by the Business Advisory Committee.
