On the 14th of May, India witnessed another rise in the Wuhan Virus (Novel Coronavirus) cases. According to the Union Health Ministry data, the Nation reported 3,43,144 new COVID-19 cases.
In addition to the new cases, India reported 4,000 deaths and 3,44,776 recovered/discharged cases in the past 24 hours. With this, India has 24,046,809 total positive cases, of which 37,04,893 are active cases, 20,079,599 are recoveries and 2,62,317 are deceased cases.

It is to be noted, in the past 22 days India’s daily Covid tally has plateaued over the three-lakh-mark and over 3,000 casualties for a fortnight. On Wednesday, the 12th of May, India recorded 4,205 fresh Covid deaths, while on May 7, the country had recorded its highest ever cases of 4,14,188.
In addition, the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) confirmed 18,75,515 samples being tested for COVID-19, taking the cumulative total to 31,13,24,100.
Besides the daily COVID-19 cases and deaths, the Union Health Ministrya also updated the data of people vaccinated against the Wuhan Virus. The Union Ministry said that a total of 17,92,98,584 people have been vaccinated so far in the Country, including 20,27,162 who were administered vaccines in the last 24 hours.
In addition, on the 12th of May, Prime Minister Narendra Modi conducted a meeting to review the availability of oxygen and medicines in India. During the second wave of the Wuhan virus, the Nation witnessed massive shortage of oxygen, beds and medical facilities for COVID-19 patients.
In regard to this, the Central Government also released an amount of Rs. 322.5 crores from the PM-CARES fund to procure 1,50,000 units of Oxycare System.
Meanwhile, top 10 worst Wuhan Virus hit states of India are: Maharashtra, Karnataka, Kerala, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal, Haryana, Gujarat, Delhi and Rajasthan.
