Kadiyam Srihari, State Education Minister has instructed the District Education Officers (DEO) to introduce digital classrooms in 6000 government schools. This will be implemented for the forthcoming academic year and maintenance will also be granted to these schools by June 2017.

A meeting was organized with the DEOs to come up with an action plan for the new academic year of 2017-2018. Srihari has decided to implement biometric attendance system and digital classrooms.

“It is necessary to review this year’s class 10 results and find ways to improve it further. Also, by the time schools reopen, all of them should have basic facilities and students should receive books and uniforms,” Kadiyam Srihari explained to the DEOs.

At this meeting, Srihari has informed the DEO the regular maintenance funds that are sanctioned for the betterment of the school’s infrastructure will be issued separately.

Government schools have been struggling with not enough staff. This problem was addressed at the meeting to which Srihari assured the vacancies would be filled within the next 6 months. Until then he asked the officials to gather Vidya Volunteers to help out with the staff crunch.
