Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and President-elect Trump had a telephonic conversation on Wednesday. The Prime Minister of Pakistan called Donald Trump to congratulate him on his victory in the 2016 presidential elections. Donald Trump said PM Nawaz Sharif is a terrific guy and is making an all round difference. He also added that PM Sharif has a good reputation and is doing amazing work. Trump has also added that he was looking forward to seeing Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in the near future.
Expressing his content President-elect Donald Trump said that, “it felt like he was talking to a person whom he had known for long.” In the excerpt released by Pakistan’s Press Information Bureau(PIB), it was also written that Trump in the telephonic conversation said that, “It will be an honor and I will personally do it. Feel free to call me anytime even before 20th January, that is before I assume my office.”
The release by PPIB also read, “Pakistanis are one of the most intelligent people. I am ready and willing to play any role that you want me to play to address and find solutions to the outstanding problems. It will be an honor and I will personally do it.” On being invited to visit Pakistan by the Prime Minister, Mr. Trump said that “I would love to come to a fantastic country, the fantastic place of fantastic people. Please convey to the Pakistani people that they are amazing and all Pakistanis I have known are exceptional people.”
Amidst the talks of India and U.S.A., defence ties and Donald Trump’s conversation with Pakistan’s Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, it is interesting to wait and see how things will shape up in the future.
