In view of people’s safety, the Mumbai traffic police issued a notification for bikers in Maharashtra.
The notification regarding the same was issued on the 25th of May, Wednesday, which mandates helmets for pillion riders.
Notably, the new rule will come into effect after 15-days, following which strict action, including fines, will be taken against violators. Moreover, currently, there is a fine of Rs 500 for those without helmets, which will soon be enforced on pillion riders also.
Initially, the fine of Rs. 500 was for riders along with a suspension of license. However, with this issued notification, the penalty would also be imposed on the pillion riders.
