Yesterday, the police received disturbing wedding pictures of a 16 year old Hyderabadi schoolgirl marrying a 65 year old Sheikh from Oman.
The girl’s parents went to the police and informed them that an aunt married their daughter to the sheikh three months ago for Rs. 5 lakhs without their consent. The parents also informed the police that she was taken to Oman by her old husband.
The parents showed the police a message the girl sent them from Muscat. It read, “If you don’t save me and take me from here, I will die.”
The young girl’s mother pleaded the police to help bring their daughter back. The mother blames her sister in law and her husband for fooling them and getting their daughter married for money.
The sheikh returned to Muscat after the wedding and later sent a visa for his underage wife.
The mother also told the police that every time her daughter called she was crying and asked to come back to Hyderabad.
In the complaint, the mother said, “I spoke directly with the Omani national who married my daughter. He is saying that he paid Rs. 5 lakhs to Sikander (brother in law) and his wife and purchased my daughter and wants that money back, then only he will send back my daughter.”
