Hyderabad ranked 4th in India for its Medical facilities

Hyderabad with its chain of super-specialty hospitals, good lodging and support facilities for relatives who accompany patients, lags behind only three metros including Mumbai, New Delhi and Chennai, the NITHM research said. The city has been taking in people travelling to India for efficient yet affordable medical sevices, including surgeries.

The majority tourists who make the city their destination are from East Asia, Middle East and Africa. Also, those from countries including Mauritius, the United Kingdom and the United States of America where medical care is too overpriced to afford visit the city for medical aid, researchers said.

“On an average, super-speciality hospitals in the city get over a hundred patients from abroad each year. Even lower rung hospitals in the city get foreign patients for treatment,” said Anand Bethapudi, Associate Professor and lead researcher, NITHM. The research was a collaborative project between Mr. Bethapudi and Sridevi Samineni.
