In an unfortunate incident, a BSF constable was dragged out of his home and shot dead by suspected militants on Wednesday. Rameez Parray had returned to his home on holiday in Hajin in Bandipore district in Jammu and Kashmir. Reports reveal that the attack injured three members of Parray’s family.
Director General of Police, S. P. Vaid said, “Three to four militants came to the BSF constable’s residence and started shooting. He was dragged out of his house and shot.”
The BSF constable died on the spot and his injured family members were rushed to a hospital.
A statement from BSF read, “Constable Rameez Ahmad Parray, a serving BSF personnel of 73 Battalion, who was on leave has been cowardly (sic) killed by terrorists today.”
A source revealed that the police are yet to identify which militant group was behind the killing of Parray. But also mentioned that Hajin has a major presence of Lashkar-e-Toiba members and has been growing into a strong militant stronghold.
