When the news about the death of Captain Ayush Yadav reached his parents, they were shattered and inconsolable. Captain Yadav was a young officer and the only son of his parents, who was commissioned through National Defence Academy. The picture with Ayush’s mother kissing his cheek and his father holding his arm show how proud they were of their son.

The incident took place on Thursday in Kupwara district of Kashmir when three terrorists entered the army base by cutting the fence surrounding the camp. Captain Ayush Yadav was asleep when the militants threw a grenade into the barracks. Subedar Bhoop Singh Gujjar and Naik B. Venkata Ramana were also killed in the attack.

Ayush’s father Arun Kant told the sources, “It is the time that India should teach Pakistan a lesson for what happened to my child should not happen with anyone else’s child. We can’t see our children being killed like this.”

Arun recalled the memories with his son and said, “ I use to pull his leg and ask him to get married and Ayush use to reply – Papa why do you always ask me to get married.” Ayush’s mother is completely broken up and has no words to describe the pain and loss she is going through. While Rupal, Ayush’s sister spoke choking up, that she is proud of her brother who laid down his life for the Nation.

Ayush had last spoken to his parents the evening before the attack took place. Ayush asked his parents to visit Kashmir and told them not to worry about the stone pelters for him and his unit would be there to protect them. Ayush’s friends said that he was a helpful person always had a smile on his face.

The loss can not be recovered but it’s time India takes action to secure our soldiers from being killed needlessly. The sacrifice of Captain Ayush Yadav, Subedar Bhoop Singh Gujjar, and Naik B. Venkata Ramana will be remembered forever. May they rest well. Rest peacefully!
