With the passing days, India is recording a spike in the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 infection cases.
On the 4th of May, India witnessed an increase of 3,900 cases, the highest one day spike till date. While the highest numbers were reported from Maharashtra, West Bengal, Rajasthan, Delhi, Tamil Nadu and Gujarat also witnessed high fresh cases of the infection.
India is currently in a 14 days lockdown announced by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA.) However, the third lockdown with an ease of some restrictions looks no beneficial as the cases are increasing day by day.
The Country has been under a lockdown since the 24th of March, this time, Lockdown 3.0 was announced with a different approach for different zones. The MHA divided India into three zones for the spread of the Virus, Red Zone, Orange Zone and Green Zone. While 130 Red Zones are still under strict lockdown, Orange Zones (284) and Green Zones (319) are allowed with some relaxations like opening of salons, movement of people, opening of wine shops, super markets selling necessary commodities and others. However, shopping malls, gyms, railways, airways, inter state movement, cinema halls, restaurants, public gatherings and cultural events are banned for every zone in India.
With these updates, India has a total of 46,437 positive cases, out of which, 32,020 are active cases, 12,847 recovered cases and 1,566 death cases.
