Delhi Police on Friday arrested a Hawala operator and another person in regard to the AIADMK symbol bribery case. These men were accused of introducing the middleman Sukesh Chandrasekhar. Sukesh was accused of offering huge amounts of money to the Election Commission. Sukesh was allegedly acting on behalf of Dinakaran to buy the two leaves symbol of AIADMK.
Reports also state that another person was taken into custody by the police at Delhi airport upon his arrival from Thailand. The police are interrogating the arrested in regard to the bribery case. On Thursday, Dinakaran was taken to Chennai for collecting further proof two days after the arrest. The police also brought Mallikarjuna, an accomplice of Dinakaran back to Chennai from the National Capital Region.
The duo along with the middleman Sukesh Chandrasekhar and others are being interrogated to get details of money flow and phone conversations. Dinakaran was arrested on Tuesday before midnight for attempting to bribe the EC with an amount of Rs. 50 crores. Dinakaran wanted the EC to allot the two leaves symbol to AIADMK Amma (Sasikala faction) for the upcoming elections.
