Fuel Prices Increase In Metro Cities Like Delhi, Hyderabad, Mumbai And Chennai

Once again, prices of petrol and diesel surged in metropolitan cities in India. 

Cities like Mumbai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Delhi and Chennai saw a rise in fuel prices. On the 25th of May, the petrol prices increased by 24 paise in Hyderabad, 20 paise in Chennai, 22 paise in Mumbai, 24 paise in Bengaluru and 23 paise in Delhi.

Speaking of the diesel prices, Delhi, Hyderabad, Chennai, Mumbai and Bengaluru saw a hike of 24 paise, 27 paise, 24 paise, 27 paise and 27 paise respectively.

With this, Diesel and Petrol prices in the aforementioned cities are:

In Delhi, petrol is at Rs. Rs. 93.44 and diesel at Rs. 84.32. In Hyderabad petrol is at Rs. 97.12 and diesel at Rs. 91.92. In Chennai, the petrol price per litre costs Rs. 95.06 and the diesel is priced at Rs. 89.11, in Mumbai petrol price per litre is at Rs. 99.71 and the diesel price is at Rs. 91.57 and in Bengaluru, petrol is at Rs. 96.55 while diesel is Rs. 89.39.

This is the fourth time fuel prices have increased in two months. The major reason behind the rise in prices is to balance retail prices in line with global developments due to the rise in crude oil prices.

State owned fuel retailers, the Indian Oil Corporation Ltd., (IOC,) the Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL) and the Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd., (HPCL) resume daily price revision. Everyday fuel prices are updated at 6:00 A.M.
