Mr. Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India, remembered the Pulwama Terror Attack, which marked its 4th anniversary on the 14th of February 2023.
Taking to Twitter, Mr. Narendra Modi said, “Remembering our valorous heroes who we lost on this day in Pulwama. We will never forget their supreme sacrifice. Their courage motivates us to build a strong and developed India.”
On the 14th of February, 2019, 40 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) soldiers lost their lives in the terror attack, claimed by the Jaish e Mohammed (JeM) terror group. The incident was more severe than the terror attack in Uri, Jammu and Kashmir, in 2016. Adil Ahmad Dar, a member of the JeM, took responsibility for the attack. In a video, Adil Dar, confessed how he rammed a Mahindra Scorpio full of 350 Kgs of explosives into a convoy carrying 40 CRPF jawans and killed the Indian Army soldiers.
It has been four years since the incident took place and people still remember how the 40 CRPF jawans were killed.
In retaliation, on the 26th of February, 2019, the Indian Government decided to retaliate against the attack by conducting an airstrike by the Indian Air Force (IAF.)
Approximately 12 Mirage 2000 fighter jets flew over the LoC and dropped 1,000 Kgs of laser guided bombs and destroyed the JeM camps situated across the LoC. The main target of the IAF was the terrorist training camps in Balakot, Pakistan.
Twitter is flooded with posts and messages containing #BlackDay and #PulwamaAttack in remembrance of the soldiers who lost their lives.
Leaders and celebrities took to their Twitter handles and remembered the jawans today, the day which marks four years since the Pulwama terror attack took place.
