This School asks Parents to Plant trees instead of Paying Fees.

This year India has taken an initiative to make our country a better, developed, and greener place. A school in Chhattisgarh’s Ambikapur has come up with a unique concept by asking the parents of their pupils, to plant trees instead of paying fees. However, the exception is for the parents who cannot afford their children’s fees. Shiksha Kuteer has at least 35 students studying in it and has asked the guardians of children to plant a tree and personally take care of it. In case the plant dies, the guardians are required to plant another in place of the old plant. The parents of the children are content and satisfied with the quality of the education being provided by this English medium school in their village.

Sevak Das, a resident of the village said, “Shiksha Kuteer has opened in the village for students who are poor and have no money to pay fees. Students are being taught in English medium. They are being taught till a certain standard and their guardians have been asked to plant saplings instead of paying fees”.

This year, India entered the world record by planting 50 million trees in one day. The initiative was taken by 8,00,000 Indian volunteers from Uttar Pradesh who planted 80 different saplings species in 24 hours. This was done on public lands to meet the environmental promises made during the 2015 Paris Climate Conference. India promised to boost the forest cover by spending $6 billion on reforesting 12% of its lands by 2030.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav said at an event promoting the planting, “The world has realized that serious efforts are needed to reduce carbon emissions to mitigate the effects of global climate change”.

This year, India took a step forward to make our nation greener and a safer place to live in. I believe that India is going to prosper and rise up in every field in the coming years.
