Lagadapati Rajagopal, a former Member of Parliament (MP,) conducted a survey and revealed his prediction about the results of the Telangana Assembly elections, on Friday.
Mr. Rajagopal said, “The BJP is likely to win 7 segments with the possibility of either adding two more or losing two seats. This time 7 independents are likely to win and increase or decrease their tally by 2 seats.”
Lagadapati Rajagopal, based on his survey, said, the alliance comprising the Congress, the TDP, the Telangana Jana Samithi (TJS) and the Communist Party of India (CPI) can win a total of 65 seats out of the 119 Telangana Assembly seats.
Speaking about the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS,) Mr. Rajagopal said, there are high chances the TRS will secure 35 seats.
The Telugu Desam Party (TDP,) which contested 13 seats, can win 7 seats. Among the 13 seats which the TDP contested, the independent candidates are likely to win 2 seats and the All India Majlis e Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) party is expected to win one seat.
According to Election Commission’s rules, a total of 60 seats out of the 119 Assembly seats are required to form a government in Telangana.
The results of the Telangana elections will be announced on the 11th of December.
