The Telangana Government announced to establish paddy based food processing industries in all the districts of Telangana.

The announcement of the paddy based food processing industry came amid the ongoing celebrations of the Telangana Formation Day 10th anniversary.  The 21 days celebration kicked off on the 2nd of June, with several events, welfare scheme announcements and other events, organized in the Telugu State of Telangana.

As a part of this celebration, Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, said the implementation of the new initiative would help farmers in Telangana to sell their products in the global market and earn more profits through the food processing industries.  In a meeting with representatives of Japan’s Satake Corporation at the state Secretariat, KCR also announced the establishment of rice mills under the supervision of the State Civil Supplies Corporation.

Getting into the details of the industries, rice mills with modern technology and a capacity to process 60 tons and 120 tons of rice per hour in each district.   At present, the capacity of rice mills to convert paddy into rice through CMR milling is not more than 75 lakh tonnes.

Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao said, “State Government stands responsible to ensure that the harvested crop is not wasted, without deterioration and loss of price to the farmers due to any reason.”  He further said, “The foundation stone for this massive endeavor, expected to cost over Rs. 2,000 crore, would be laid soon.” 

Meanwhile, the 21 days Telangana Formation Day celebration would conclude with a grand event on the 23rd of June.
