The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS,) on the 15th of June, approved the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 treatment in the private hospitals.
In regard to this, the State Government announced prices to conduct the Novel Coronavirus diagnostic tests at private laboratories and costs to treat positive patients at corporate hospitals in Hyderabad.
According to the released prices, COVID-19 tests would cost Rs. 2, 200 at private laboratories in Hyderabad. Corporate hospitals would charge Rs. 4,000 per day for isolation facilities, Rs. 7,500 per day from positive patients who need Intensive Care Unit (ICU) facilities and Rs. 9,000 for patients requiring ICU facilities with ventilator support.
Etala Rajender, the Health Minister of Telangana, said, “These charges are separate from the cost of antiviral drugs that the private hospital will administer to the coronavirus patients.”
Meanwhile, the cases of the Novel Coronavirus rose to 4,974. Out of the total, 2,412 are active cases, 2,377 are recovered/ discharged and 185 fatalities.
